About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Site Manager who is also a skilled all-round handyman to oversee day-to-day site operations while carrying out general maintenance and repair tasks. This is a varied role that requires strong organisational skills, practical experience, and a proactive attitude.

Oversee and coordinate all trades on site to ensure high-quality internal and external finishes are delivered safely, on time, and in line with specification, drawings and client expectations. The Finishing Foreman will manage snagging, quality control and day-to-day supervision of operatives and subcontractors during the stages of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of all finishing works on site (carpentry, decorating, flooring, ceilings, sanitaryware, fixtures & fittings, etc.).
  • Coordinate and supervise trades and subcontractors to ensure work is completed to the required standard.
  • Work from drawings, specifications and finishes schedules to ensure compliance and correct installation.
  • Lead on snagging: identify defects, produce snag lists, allocate actions and chase close-out.
  • Carry out regular quality inspections and implement corrective actions where standards are not met.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with health & safety requirements and site rules.
  • Report progress, issues and risks to the Contracts Manager/Project Co-ordinator on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Liaise with Project team, subcontractors and, where required, client representatives to resolve queries.
  • Protect completed finishes and ensure areas are handed over clean, tidy and presentable.
  • Support in planning labour and sequencing of finishing works to meet programme dates.
  • Assist with onsite works including minor plumbing. painting, carpentry works (kitchen units etc), carpet tiling
  • Hold site inductions and toolbox talks

Requirement

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager, Handyman, or similar role
  • Strong practical skills across multiple trades
  • Good understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Full driving licence (preferred)
  • Own tools (advantageous but not essential)
  • Ideally hold SMSTS

Role and Responsibilities:

You will be assisting Project Managers in the successful planning, programming, execution, monitoring, controlling and completion of all projects.

You will also be expected to assist Project Managers in day to day on site management of all Caswell employees and our sub-contractors and the health and safety of these employees. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the below:

Site Action

  • Attend and assist Project Managers on site Meetings with clients reporting back to office team members detailed information gathered at such meetings so estimates can be prepared, and the correct materials ordered in good time

Review of Works

  • Assist organisation of projects; plan and supervise the workforce to execute works in accordance with the project programme.
  • Work with the board planner to provide details of labour requirements for forthcoming weeks with as much notice as possible.
  • Ensure that each project meets its targets in terms of quality and customer satisfaction. Any issues should be dealt with during the project period and snags must be rectified in a timely manner, to avoid any delays or reductions to final invoicing.
  • Manage and monitor the works, liaising with both our own and our client’s operational staff to ensure compliance with our client’s specifications and also our agreed company methods/ standards to everyone's' satisfaction.
  • Produce O&M manuals and for this you will need to produce relevant detailed As - built drawings and supporting information.
  • Check for accuracy and sign off subcontractor invoices or agency workers timesheets.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys both workshop fabrication and on-site installations. You will be working on a variety of projects, including custom gates, railings, and metalwork including structural steel fabrication, with opportunities to showcase your welding skills both in-house and on client sites.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Attending callouts/reactive works across the South East to make safe and carry out minor repairs.
  • Working across multiple trades (basic carpentry, patch plastering, painting, making good, replacing fixtures/fittings, basic plumbing).
